Job Description

YOUR ROLE

The Lead Advisor, Students and Families is a newly created position established to support the renewal and strategic growth of faith formation across Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS). In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of dynamic, high-impact faith formation programs that inspire students and families to engage more deeply with the Catholic tradition. You will provide expert advice and work closely with school leaders to co-design evangelisation strategies that embed the MACS “Working Together in Mission” charter into everyday school life. This position is ideal for an experienced leader in Catholic education or ministry, with a passion for building vibrant faith communities and the ability to translate theology into engaging, real-world practice. You will collaborate across the Catholic Mission and Identity (CMI) directorate, which empowers MACS schools to bring the mission of Catholic education to life through faith, formation, and community connection.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • You will lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of faith leadership and theological formation programs aligned with the Faith Formation Framework and MACS 2030 strategy.
  • You will deliver strategic advice and professional learning to Principals, aspiring leaders, and school staff to enhance Catholic identity and leadership capacity.
  • You will contribute to the development of system-wide accreditation strategies that nurture and recognise Catholic leadership at all career stages.
  • You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including parishes and Archdiocesan partners, to support formation, liturgical planning, and sacramental life in schools.
  • You will draw on research and data to inform best practice in formation and contribute to broader strategic initiatives across the Catholic Mission and Identity (CMI) directorate.
  • You will represent the Faith Leadership team and contribute to major CMI projects, ensuring a cohesive and mission-aligned approach to Catholic education across MACS.

ABOUT YOU

  • You bring deep theological and educational expertise that enables you to inspire and support the formation of Catholic leaders and staff.
  • You have demonstrated experience in leadership within Catholic education and a strong understanding of the faith formation needs of schools.
  • You communicate with clarity and influence, and you excel at building strong, respectful relationships across diverse stakeholders.
  • You are highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining attention to detail and strategic alignment.
  • You are a collaborative team member who values collective mission and brings energy, adaptability, and professionalism to everything you do.
