Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Provide strategic leadership and direction for school IT operations, developing and executing regional IT strategies, infrastructure roadmaps, and technology adoption plans aligned to educational priorities and MACS strategy.
Oversee the design, delivery, and ongoing operation of secure, scalable, and reliable IT services for schools, including networks, endpoints, Wi‑Fi, AV, telephony, servers, and digital learning platforms.
Drive operational excellence through strong service management practices, including incident, problem, and change management, capacity planning, automation, and continuous improvement.
Lead, develop, and manage distributed school IT teams, fostering a high‑performance, customer‑focused culture supported by clear standards, capability uplift, training, and knowledge sharing.
Ensure compliance with IT security policies, Australian privacy legislation, child safety requirements, education regulations, and mandatory governance controls, including audits, risk assessments, and incident response.
Demonstrated capability in managing security risk assessments, audits, vulnerability programs, incident response/recovery, and minimising impacts from cybersecurity events while maintaining robust governance and reporting.
Partner with all enterprise ITS teams to ensure alignment to enterprise platforms, standards, and roadmaps.
Manage budgets, forecasting, procurement, and asset and licensing lifecycles, ensuring cost‑effective service delivery and value for money.
ABOUT YOU
Demonstrated ability to lead and empower managers and teams, establishing a performance-oriented, customer-focused culture within complex, distributed environments.
Extensive experience leading IT operations and service delivery in education or similarly complex environments, aligning technology outcomes to organisational and user needs.
Strong capability in managing operational complexity, ambiguity, and competing priorities, with resilience, tenacity and innovation in achieving strategic outcomes aligned to MACS2030 and the Digital Ambition.
Proven stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to adapt communication to diverse audiences, including school leaders and executive stakeholders.
Recognised subject matter expertise in IT operations, security, risk, and governance, with the ability to contribute credibly to enterprise forums and cross‑organisational initiatives.
Demonstrated commitment to privacy, integrity, equal opportunity, and workplace health and safety principles.
